this is the sort of film that i grow fonder of over time. its the little nuances that do it for me, things you dont notice the first time around but are quirky and hilarious the more you think about them. many of my fellow wes anderson fans love this film, and while i like it i dont place it as high as many of his others, but the film is inventive and max's "play" scenes really put the film in unique standing. overall great comedy.

absolutely one of the most fun, quirky, unrealistic, hilarious films out there. wes andersons composition style, dialogue, shot selection, and attention to detail make him one of the best directors out there, and this chaotic film is an example of how bizarre something can be while being so intentional at the same time. i love this movie.

i go back and forth with my score for this film. 4 stars is the low end of my feelings, but despite how much i loved this film and believe it to be the best marvel characters film ever made, its not perfect. the hulk, black widow, and iron man were used perfectly, as was shield. thor could have been used a bit better, and captain america and hawkeye were definitely underused. the action sequences were top notch, the script was full of the best kinds of humor, and the big reveal at the end of who is behind the evil plot is maybe the single best thing marvel has ever done. loki was awesome, but misused all the same as i would to have loved to see his trickster persona make an appearance. overall, i loved this film and believe it to be a legitimate payoff the the films that built towards it.

every watch solidifies my feelings for this film that im sure ive seen a dozen times. my love for elizabeth shue is part of the reason i struggle with the sequels, due to her absence. the film is more depth and less stereotypical martial arts fare. i love this film.
